Polish law enforcement officers have exposed a spy network that organized pro-russian initiatives and media campaigns in the EU against EU states and bodies, as well as against Ukraine. This was reported by UNN with reference to PAP.

Details

It is noted that the Internal Security Agency (ABW) conducted searches in Warsaw and Tychy as part of an investigation into espionage activities in favor of russia.

During the ABW operation, 48,500 euros and 36,000 dollars were seized. In addition to the searches,  the first interrogations of the persons involved in the case took place.

It is noted that the operation was the result of international cooperation between the agency and a number of European services, in particular, coordinated with partners from the Czech Republic.

As a result, activities aimed at organizing pro-russian initiatives and media campaigns in the EU were documented. The aim was to realize the Kremlin's foreign policy goals, including weakening the position of the Republic of Poland in the international arena, discrediting Ukraine and the image of EU institutions

- said Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services.

Previously, the international website voice-of-europe.eu was launched for this purpose , which published articles, statements, comments or interviews with a biased, pro-russian overtone.
