Details
Hamas has released a new video showing two hostages who were kidnapped last October. The three-minute video features 64-year-old Keith Siegel and 46-year-old Omri Miran, who speak under pressure from the militants, the publication notes. The content of the video suggests that it was filmed recently.
Miran said he had been in captivity for 202 days, and Siegel mentioned the Passover holiday. Both appealed to the Israeli authorities and the public to intensify efforts to secure their release, asking them to continue their protests to reach an exchange agreement.
"Keep protesting to reach an agreement now," said one of the hostages.
The video ends with a statement from Hamas terrorists criticizing the Israeli leadership.
Addendum
Earlier this week, Hamas released a video showing Polish hostage Hirsch Goldberg. "The second such video in three days comes amid growing pressure on the government to approve a truce agreement and release of prisoners," commented The Times of Israel.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari said that the military will continue to pursue Hamas until all the hostages kidnapped last October are released. He called the video with Hirsch Goldberg "an act of psychological terror.
As noted by The Times of Israel, the publication of such videos, which have become more frequent, comes amid intensified Israeli preparations for an offensive on Rafah, the last major Hamas bastion in the Gaza Strip.
