There are a lot of questions about the messenger, about Telegram as a social network, as a social platform. There are many suspicions about Telegram's cooperation with the authorities of the so-called Russia, in particular, with its special services. We have channels that spread Russian FSB propaganda and conduct information special operations with no problems, and no appeals from our authorized bodies, such as the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting or the Security Service of Ukraine, are actually ignored
Poturaev cited the example of Telegram blocking two local channels during the recent protests in Russia's Bashkortostan.
I don't use Telegram anymore, but I don't impose my position... I just calmly say that I do not use an application that I suspect is controlled by the enemy, or at least cooperates with the enemy of Ukraine
A draft law on Telegram has now been registered in the Verkhovna Rada and, according to Poturaev, there will be public discussions to make sure that the law will work, "and not be a declarative act." According to him, the law may be submitted to the parliament in two months. According to Poturaev, Ukraine will compare this legislation with EU legislation.
