Ukrainian pilots are in the final stages of training on F-16 fighter jets in Denmark and the United States, practicing strikes on small targets and improving their skills for real combat missions in Ukraine.

In Denmark and the United States, Ukrainian pilots are in the final stages of training to operate F-16 fighters. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Ilya Yevlash, during a briefing, according to a UNN correspondent .

"Currently, we have several groups going through several preparatory stages at once. The pilots who are being trained in Denmark and the United States are in the final stages of their training, and they are already practicing to hone their skills on real tasks that will be assigned to them in Ukraine," said Yevlash.

According to him, the pilots are also practicing strikes on small targets, including such things as chessboards, cruise missiles and guided missiles.

Yevlash also said that there are pilots in the UK who are taking English language courses.

"As of now, we still have some trainees in the UK. These are the first courses they are taking to learn the language - English and ground training. Another such group has already completed similar courses and moved to another country of the air coalition, France. They are currently undergoing training on light aircraft to increase their flight hours and master the control system. This is a transitional stage before they move to a more serious jet fighter and gain valuable experience there, which they will then hone on the F-16," said Yevlash.

Addendum

In early April, Yevlash reported that several groups of Ukrainian pilots were being trained in different countries to fly F-16s. Two advanced groups based in Denmark and the United States are already honing their skills on F-16s .

Ukraine is preparing and adapting airfields to receive F-16s.

The New York Times reported that by this summer, 12 Ukrainian pilots will be ready to fly F-16s after 10 months of training in Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, by the time the pilots return, only six F-16s out of an estimated 45 fighter jets will have been delivered to Ukraine.

The Netherlands plans to prepare six additional F-16 fighters for Ukraine. This will bring the total number of F-16s to 24. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed hope that Ukraine will be able to receive Danish F-16 fighters before the summer.
