The former deputy chief engineer of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, who collaborated with the Russian occupiers, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for aiding the occupiers.
The illegally appointed Russian "head" of Zaporizhzhya NPP, who voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders, has been sentenced for aiding the occupiers. The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison, according to UNN.
According to the mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, it is Yuriy Chernichuk, former deputy chief engineer of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
On April 12, the Leninsky District Court of Zaporizhzhia announced a verdict to citizen Ch. who voluntarily agreed to take the position of "first deputy director general" in the occupation "management" of ZNPP.
As noted, the man committed actions aimed at agitation and persuasion of Zaporizhzhia NPP employees to cooperate with the occupiers. Also, committed actions to help the Russian Federation, aimed at disconnecting the equipment of the data transmission network system on the territory of the NPP, which made it impossible to monitor the condition of reactor units and other technologically important equipment.
"The court sentenced citizen Ch. to 10 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities, local self-government, state enterprises, institutions and organizations for a period of twelve years, with the confiscation of all his property," the court said in a statement.
