According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia is preparing to mobilize 300,000 additional troops for a possible new offensive against Ukraine on June 1.

"We don't need half a million, I am grateful to the Main Command for the audit. It is important that he found the forces within the Armed Forces. The appropriate number who were not at the front will be at the front," Zelensky said.
He noted that he is not yet ready to say publicly how many people will be mobilized in Ukraine.
"As for the specific number, I am not ready to tell you how many will be mobilized. I can say that Russia is preparing to mobilize 300,000 additional troops on June 1," Zelensky said.
