Government dismisses Deputy Defense Minister Polovenko

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed Vitaliy Polovenko from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense and Tetyana Laktionova from the post of Deputy Head of the National Social Service.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed Vitaliy Polovenko from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. This was announced by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, UNN reports.
Melnychuk said that the government had fired him:
- Vitaliy Polovenko from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine;
- Tetiana Laktionova from the position of Deputy Head of the National Social Service of Ukraine.
According to him, Vita Shapovalova has been temporarily assigned the duties of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Melnychuk also said that the appointment had been approved:
- Mykhailo Melnyk as the head of the Sumy District State Administration of Sumy Region;
- Yuriy Huzynets as the Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
"The dismissal of Yuriy Huzynets from the post of head of the Uzhhorod District State Administration of the Transcarpathian region has been agreed," Melnychuk wrote.

Vitaliy Polovenko was appointed by the government as Deputy Minister of Defense on December 1, 2023.
Since 2019, Polovenko has served as the head of the Logistics Logistics Department at the National Defense University of Ukraine. He participated in combat operations and holds a PhD in Military Science.
